The War Between The Mainstream Media and President Trump

I’ve been pretty quiet for the last three weeks for no good reason.  Although I was trying to divide my attention in too many directions, I have still been paying attention. One thing I was wondering, was if the mainstream media going to keep up their offensive after President Trump was inaugurated?  The answer is yes. Each day the daily presidential press briefings are contentious to the point of disrespect.  The Press Secretary Sean Spicer points out bad journalism each day.  The stories I read in the Washington Post and New York Times are written to be critical of President Trump with almost every word.  CNN turned into a joke when they basically threatened an information war against Trump.  The sad truth is that war is already being waged.  This is bad journalism and it created the war between the mainstream media and President Trump.

Since June 15 2015 when Donald Trump announced his intention to run for president, the press started waging their information war.  A prime example is how CNN continually feeds the narrative that Donald Trump is racist.  In this 2015 interview CNN anchorman Don Lemon directly asked Trump if he was a racist, bigoted in any way, or an Islamaphobe.  I never heard CNN ask Hillary Clinton if she was sexist or racist.  Nor did they ask any of the other Republican candidates such offensive questions.  The double standard for portraying Trump as a racist extended to the other mainstream media newspapers and television shows also.

Supporting Rand Paul over Donald Trump early on didn’t stop me from seeing the double standard and bad reporting by the media.  Polls clearly showed that Donald Trump led the primaries from the day after his announcement.  With each media attack declaring his candidacy dead because he was a homophobe, racist, sexist, and all the other names, Donald Trump actually gained popularity.  I respected that he took a stance based on evidence and stuck with it regardless of media attack.  It showed strong character to stand up in the face of that adversity.  From his rising poll numbers, it showed Americans no longer took the mainstream media at their word.

A prime example of the mainstream media attacks against President Trump are still in today’s mainstream headlines and it started with the media accusing Donald Trump of bigotry.  In announcing his intention to run as President, Donald Trump declared that America had an illegal immigrant problem.  He went on to declare he would build a wall on the southern border.  Trump also said that many of the illegals were criminals. Later in his campaign he started attacking the foolishness of bringing in refugees from areas that we are at war with.

Let’s fact check a few of these things.  Most of the southern border is unguarded and porous.  Our government even set up water stations in the southwest desert so the illegal immigrants won’t die of thirst while breaking our laws.  The Border Patrol’s morale hit all time lows during the Obama administration because they were ordered not to do their job. Is several hundred thousand illegals walking across our border a year a problem? I would say yes. Would a wall create a barrier that might make entering our country a little more difficult?  Yes it would, and you could stop funding the water stations to help pay for the wall.

On just a side note of opinion, I don’t like the wall personally.  It makes me think of the Berlin Wall and our country is too totalitarian now a days for my own liking.  Who says in the future that wall might not be used to keep Americans in rather than illegal immigrants out.  I still have to admit the facts that something needs to be done on our southern border.

The next fact is whether the illegal immigrants are criminals.  When you listen to the Democrats and their pundits, they no longer even use the word illegal.  To them the immigrants are undocumented.  They want to change the language and ignore that every single illegal immigrant is in America violating our laws.  That makes every illegal immigrant a criminal. I am not claiming they are all dangerous people, but they are all violating our immigration laws regardless of semantics.

Now I will agree that the estimates of how many illegals are violating other felony laws is debatable.  There are a hundred different sources of information on how many are rapists, murderers, muggers, burglars, and so on.  Each source of information claims they are right.  Each source has different numbers so they obviously can’t all be right.

Trump makes the point that the serious extra offenders are what he is targeting to deport first. Listening to the media, you would think he was going to direct ICE to start kicking down the doors of most of the line cooks in New York City.  The mainstream media narrative holds desperately to a few thin strands of truth to exaggerate a narrative.  That makes it a false narrative.

The truth is, one person being killed by an illegal alien murderer is too many. Kate Steinle is one of the few well published examples of how a person’s life can end needlessly.  Her attacker was an illegal immigrant who was a repeat felon who had been deported five times.  Why are Americans serving long jail terms for crimes and illegals getting caught and released?  Kate Steinle is one too many.  She is as much a victim of America’s failed immigration policy as she is also the victim of a murderer. It is a sick double standard and the mainstream media refuses to write about it.

Then you have to ask yourself, does it make sense to bomb a group of people into homelessness, killing their friends and family, and then inviting them refuge inside your own home?  That is what we are doing with the Syrian refugees.

I’ll start by stating that America has no business being involved in Syria. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton manufactured a war in that country at enormous cost that has helped lead to today’s refugee crisis.  America being in a constant state of war seems to be a reality the interventionist Democrats and Republicans of our country want.  The lobby of the military industrial complex feeds the money into Washington DC to keep fabricated wars alive so American tax dollars keep flowing into their companies to make weapons.  Those weapons are then either dropped by American planes as weapons to destroy, or as supplies to our “allies” in the region to be used in brutal fashion. This has led to millions left homeless and hundreds of thousands dead or maimed without reason.

Donald Trump makes the point that bringing in these Muslim refugees from  areas we are actively bombing is dangerous.  The mainstream media calls him Islamaphobic for publicly stating that.  Not once does the media ask the question, if your mom, dad, sister, and best friend have been killed as a result of America’s unprovoked war in Syria, as a Syrian would you want a bit of revenge on America?  American policy in Iraq and Syria put the conditions in place for the creation of ISIS.  They created the Syrian civil war.  Trump is merely pointing out the obvious and the mainstream media demonizes him for it.  The mainstream media refuses to report on the truth in Europe due to the migrant crisis.  That brought mass rape, assault, and murder problems to the region.  The political establishment wants to bring that same chaos to America.

All of that was while Donald Trump was just a candidate running for President.  After the election on November 9th the mainstream media only doubled down on their narrative against Donald Trump.  They started by widely publishing the protests against his election.  CNN even went so far as to have a cameraman falsely pose as a protester for an interview.  I guess they needed someone who could speak coherently for their cause.  Of course when the Portland and Oakland protests degenerated into senseless riots and the mainstream media coverage disappeared.

Then came the whole narrative of Russia hacking the election.  I wrote multiple stories that you can read here, here, and here on why the Russia narrative was pure garbage.  The CIA, political establishment, and mainstream media all colluded to try and cast Donald Trump as a man compromised by the Russians.  They attempted to use it to change the electoral college vote and failed.  They attempted to sway public support away from him so Congress could vote against him and failed.  That each double down on the propaganda failed didn’t matter to these people, each failure only meant they would double down with more and new false narratives.

Perhaps even funnier during the mainstream media waging their propaganda war against Trump, is that our government passed a law in an attempt to shut down websites like mine.  It is the government attempting to control what the public sees as “real news” and as “fake news”.  Then Facebook and Twitter began active censoring programs to combat writers of the alternate media. The message was clear, anyone exposing a narrative not approved by the political establishment in Washington DC or the mainstream media was going to be attacked and shut down.  Knowing this was coming was part of why I started my website.  I wanted to lend my voice toward combating the corruption in Washington DC and exposing the propaganda of the mainstream media.

Then on Jan 11 2017, President-elect Trump with a little more than a week left before taking office returned direct fire at the mainstream media and took the war to them.  He declared that CNN, perhaps the best known of the mainstream media, was “fake news”.  It was an open attack against the propaganda machine that seeks to misinform the American public.  The attack took place in an open forum that was impossible to hide.  Although before the mainstream media waged relentless war with the narrative on Donald Trump, he announced with his attack on CNN that he was fighting back.

As a person that follows the narrative daily, I can only say that the optics since President Trump took office are very entertaining.  It is also a bit surreal and scary.  I knew the political establishment of both the Democrats and Republicans feared Donald Trump, but even now I struggle with the enormity of how great that gravity of fear is.  The political establishment enjoyed a twenty-eight year run of control without opposition. It led to 6 of the 10 most wealthy counties being located surrounding Washington DC.

That might make you think Washington DC produces smart phones to bring in the wealth.  Or perhaps coffee makers?  The reality is that Washington DC and the surrounding counties produce very little that Americans want to buy.  What comes out of Washington DC is laws, regulations, and taxes. Everyday they produce more.  It is estimated that there are now 4,500 federal criminal laws on the books and countless regulations.  It makes it impossible for the average American to live their life without unknowingly violating some of those laws.  These laws and regulations are destroying America by making it impossible to produce goods or conduct a profitable business.

From President’s first day in office he has led an interesting war against the media.  He understands that today’s mainstream media is lazy and will latch on to an easy narrative.  A good example was the huge deal that CNN made about the crowd size at the presidential inauguration.  Trump added fuel to the fire by pretending to be outraged by CNN claiming more people watched Barack Obama’s inauguration.  This blew up on the headlines of papers for days.  It turned into a huge distraction.

I found it fascinating that while the media screamed about crowd sizes, Donald Trump acted swiftly by creating and signing a series of executive orders to begin his agenda.  In this November article I clearly stated that Trump needed to establish the rule of law in this country again, and to do so, he would act as dictator to do this.  He is a businessman, and any CEO understands that businesses are all dictatorships.  He who runs the company makes the rules and makes sure they are enforced.  People who are good at this have successful businesses.  So as the media howled at Trump’s crowd size narrative, Trump enacted the following executive orders as listed by Fox News in an article on February 3 2017.

  • An order directing the Treasury secretary to review the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial regulatory law.
  • A memorandum instructing the Labor Department to delay implementing an Obama rule requiring financial professionals who are giving advice on retirement, and who charge commissions, to put their client’s interests first.
  • An order instructing agencies that whenever they introduce a regulation, they must first abolish two others.
  • A memorandum to restructure the National Security Council and the Homeland Security Council.
  • A memorandum directing the Secretary of Defense to draw up a plan within 30 days to defeat ISIS.
  • An order to lengthen the ban on administration officials working as lobbyists. There is now a 5 year-ban on officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government, and a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.
  • An executive order imposing a 120-day suspension of the refugee program and a 90-day ban on travel to the U.S. from citizens of seven terror hot spots: Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Sudan.
  • Two multi-pronged orders on border security and immigration enforcement including: the authorization of a U.S.-Mexico border wall; the stripping of federal grant money to sanctuary cities; hiring 5,000 more Border Patrol agents; ending “catch-and-release” policies for illegal immigrants; and reinstating local and state immigration enforcement partnerships.
  • A memorandum calling for a 30-day review of military readiness.
  • Two orders reviving the Keystone XL pipeline and Dakota Access piplines. He also signed three other related orders that would: expedite the environmental permitting process for infrastructure projects related to the pipelines; direct the Commerce Department to streamline the manufacturing permitting process; and give the Commerce Department 180 days to maximize the use of U.S. steel in the pipeline.
  • An order to reinstate the so-called “Mexico City Policy” – a ban on federal funds to international groups that perform abortions or lobby to legalize or promote abortion. The policy was instituted in 1984 by President Reagan, but has gone into and out of effect depending on the party in power in the White House.
  • A notice that the U.S. will begin withdrawing from the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal. Trump called the order “a great thing for the American worker.”
  • An order imposing a hiring freeze for some federal government workers as a way to shrink the size of government. This excludes the military, as Trump noted at the signing.
  • An order that directs federal agencies to ease the “regulatory burdens” of ObamaCare. It orders agencies to “waive, defer, grant exemptions from, or delay the implementation of any provision or requirement” of ObamaCare that imposes a “fiscal burden on any State or a cost, fee, tax, penalty, or regulatory burden on individuals, families, healthcare providers, health insurers, patients, recipients of healthcare services, purchasers of health insurance, or makers of medical devices, products, or medications.”
Conclusion

The mainstream media has been waging a war against Donald Trump unsuccessfully for a year and a half on behalf to the government establishment.  Donald Trump has used their zeal in attacking him to drive his own narrative and popularity.  His war against the media is only just beginning.  He is using it as a noisy cover to quietly enact his agenda.

Each of his executive orders is directed at shrinking the size of government, strengthening law enforcement and defense, and attacking harmful government over-regulation.  He is actually attempting to deliver on the campaign promises he made.  I may not agree with all those promises, but I can respect what he is doing.  That also allows me to read between the lines when reading or watching new mainstream media attacks.  Each time they attack, they are forced to report on some of the truth they don’t want to tell.  It is an interesting information war.

  1. In referring to the paragraph where you speak about not liking the wall because it reminds you of the Berlin wall and could, perhaps, be used to keep Americans in rather than illegals out, I note that nowhere in your message did I hear you speak about the drugs that are pouring into our country. These drug cartels have free, open range to pass in and out of our country at will. I feel this is perhaps the biggest danger to US citizens. I grew up in Arizona and the stories I’ve heard about the threats made to border agents and their families if they don’t cooperate or look the other way would make anyone fear for their life. This is the message Trump has always included when speaking about the wall. These are the “bad dudes” he is referring to. They are criminals and are truly dangerous. I don’t think any average person will ever understand the true threat our open borders possess and what needs to be done, specifically, to protect Americans. I believe Trump knows and I believe he is going to do just that, protect me and everyone else. Amen and thank you very much.
And on another point, I think the radical left held up Trump’s Immigration ban because they needed to get more terrorists into the country before they were stopped. I cannot understand why Trump seems to be taking his time on the alternate executive order. I am worried about all the illegals/terrorists flooding in before he can get the ban back in place. I am sure he has it under control, but it makes me worried.
And one last thing. You spoke about the censorship of the internet and how you found that amusing, specifically the Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act that has been voted into law. I was deeply trouble when I first read about this law and still concerned today. If this censorship is allowed to continue, it cannot bode well for any of us. What is being done to fight this? Have you heard anything from Trump regarding this? It now appears he has been tapped during the election and I am sure this is just the tip of the iceberg. I think Obama did more damage in the last 60 days in office than in all his 8 years combined.

    1. Wow Kerryn, you are putting in some great questions as to my line of reasoning. I will break down my thought process on each one of those three because you do make very good points. My mind doesn’t so much concentrate on the symptoms, which I agree are very bad, but what is causing the overall sickness and how it might be cured. I know some people don’t like my positions because I refuse to fight human nature and try to stay as logical as possible in suggesting solutions. Please take my reply with a bit of a grain of salt because I agree with the damage and danger that you are talking about, but that damage or danger might be greatly diminished if we stop treating symptoms and start enacting solutions.

You are correct that I don’t bring up the dangers of what our useless War on Drugs have created on the southern border. Prohibitions do not work. The prohibition on alcohol created an incredibly violent atmosphere around the distribution of alcohol inside America in the 1920s and 30s and a lot of people died and went to jail over someone like me wanting a vodka tonic. If alcohol were illegal today, I would break the law regularly so that I could have my drink after work or dinner before going to sleep. Alcohol is a drug I choose to use as a wind down to a very busy day and my drink or two hurts no one. I know people who smoke pot, do coke, pop pills, and worse. I don’t partake in their drugs, but I don’t demonize them for using them. Saying drugs make people violent is actually the same argument as guns kill people. Violent people who happen to use drugs commit acts of violence, much like violent people find a gun a good tool to commit violence. We waste over $50 billion a year fighting the War on Drugs. Because 30% of the population is willing to violate our drug laws on a daily basis, that sets up the Drug Cartels to set up virtual monopolies to smuggle drugs into America. This subsidizes the the coyotes to increase the flow of illegal immigrants into our country because they can be used as mules to transport the drugs. Since they don’t want to go to jail for their activities that puts them in direct conflict with our law enforcement agencies. Our drug laws are greatly increasing the illegal immigrant flow, endangering our law enforcement people, and creating violence when unregulated gangs compete for turf to sell their illegal drugs.

On a personal level I hate cocaine, heroin, meth, and all these other things people choose to do. I have watched good friends destroy their lives using those drugs, but I also know a good number of alcoholics that did the same with vodka or bourbon. I deeply disagree with Trump and Sessions on their desire to expand the drug war. The Drug Cartels actual want Trump and Sessions to take this action because states making pot legal cut into their marketplace. Legalization of drugs will actually cause the Drug Cartels to go out of business because they would be replaced by legal regulated vendors that could be taxed and would have the protection of the law. In 1900 you could walk into a department store and buy opium or cocaine. You had addicts like you do today, but you didn’t have the problem of violence, mass incarceration, or cartel subsidized illegal immigration that you have today.
Trump’s travel ban is a good idea and I thought fairly well written and initiated in its original form. Under the current laws on the books I believe that the travel ban was lawful, but it was stopped, by what I refer to as, the politically promoted and appointed deep state. The ninth circuit court is a result of 28 years of neoconservative and progressive administrations. Neoconservative Republicans are not interested in conserving the meaning of the Constitution, but are totalitarians looking to increase their own personal power, and the power of the government to subjugate and rob the general population. The progressives are somehow worse and I pretty much view them as communists and they want an absolute destruction of the Constitution and America. These two groups appointed those three judges not as impartial jurors but as political activists. Now we are witnessing the result of the corruption of our courts. I think that is why Trump is delaying on the second order. He is attempting to draft a document to be so perfect that even the deep state will not protest. Trump is attempting to dismantle the deep state, but finding it more difficult than he expected because they control certain aspects of the court. That is why getting his Supreme Court nominee into place is so important. We and Trump are facing a long and dirty and nasty fight to dismantle the corruption in Washington because it is entrenched, fortified, and well armed. I give Trump a lot of credit for how much he has achieved so far.

I find the attempts at censorship funny because I see it as a complete act of desperation by the elite establishment because they have lost control of the narrative. Is the Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act frightening? YES! It is part of why I started my website. I really thought Hillary Clinton was going to win and this website is my act of defiance. This website was started figuring I would be named an enemy to my own government for exposing their corruption and there was a good chance I might go to jail under a Hillary Clinton administration. I find fighting to preserve my freedom of speech a worth while cause.

The establishment, which includes the too big to fail banks, various industrial complexes, neoconservative and progressive politicians, and media empires made a mistake when they allowed the public access to the internet. The internet was originally planned as a way for the government to gain control over everyone’s financial transactions. Control the money and you control the people. You can see how they used bank card and credit cards to diminish the public’s use of cash. That means most peoples’ financial transactions are electronic 1s and 0s that the NSA can track, control, and disrupt. Now they are talking about taking society cashless. Cash is hard to track and much harder to control. They want to implement totalitarian control.

But the internet has also increased the ability of people to communicate ideas and information. It allows me to write my articles and to publish a book without the filters of politically correct publishing houses that used to dominate our country. People like you and me are why the internet is so dangerous to the establishment. They made the chess move to take away our ability to control our own finances, but opened the door to people like us to communicate and inform others who previously were following their false narrative. What is funnier, is that Act to attempt governmental censorship gave power to the Executive Branch to use. That means the establishment gave that power to Trump and he views CNN, NBC, ABC, the NY Times, and the Washington Post as his enemies. The establishment just armed the guy who wants to take them down. I find that hilarious.
I have to think about some lunch. You have great points and genuine worries that I understand and don’t disagree with, but I look a little outside the box when viewing the world around me.

      1. With your permission I may actually want to use this comment stream as a post on my website. That was just me unfiltered.

        1. As far as your comments go regarding the wall, I want to say that I totally agree with everything you say and feel the same. I would just add that I personally feel it is important that Trump protects our borders at all cost. Obama has had 8 years to flood this country with terrorists in order to fullfill their globalist agenda. He has to stop them. I just hope it isn’t too late.
I also agree with your views regarding the internet and censorship. The globalists are vicious in their attempts to silence the awakening giant. Too late, yet they continue to try. The problem is they have too much control and we are trying to fight them on their own turf. I am waiting for the day when someone creates a platform that excludes interference from those that would seek to silence us, much the same as blockchain has been created to block the big banks and middle, money sucking, controlling man from interfering with financial transactions. We can always hope.
As for your request for my permission, it is granted with my blessings.
